| Free ISDN Access: The right choice for you?
Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is a speedy, two-line
digital telephone network that works over regular residential
and business copper phone systems. With free ISDN access, anyone
can benefit from the flexibility and ease of high-speed internet
capabilities.
Free ISDN access is fast because of its digital connection,
which can manage and transfer information more than four to
fives times as quickly as a regular analogue telephone network.
This works with the help of an ISDN adapter, which integrates
analogue or voice data with digital data, allowing them to be
sent at the same time, over the same line, and at the same speed
(up to 128 kbps). That means users can upload and download
information at the same speed.
The quest for increasingly fast internet links has resulted in
the creation of broadband connections that are capable of
transmitting high-fidelity images at top speed, but practice
dictates that many users don’t require that kind of connection.
In fact, most tasks undertaken by the average user, such as a
student or a small business owner, can be performed with ease
using the ‘always on’ 128 kbps connection that comes with free
ISDN access. Some marketers would have you believe faster is
always better, but all that speed comes at a steep price. Why
pay for lightening-fast service you don’t need and wouldn’t use?
It doesn’t make sense.
One of the best advantages of free ISDN access is the ease with
which it can be deployed nearly anywhere in the world. ISDN is
available in many remote towns and villages that have a digital
exchange, but where broadband service has yet to make an
appearance.
Before signing up for high-speed broadband service, examine your
internet usage to determine whether free ISDN access might be
the best option to meet your needs.
